Howling Heart Weightlifting Club had two athletes who qualified for the Senior National Championships and they both brought home gold 
Eithne Harte competed on Saturday in the 55kg category. She took some risks, opening on a heavyweight and ended up snatching 60kg, 63kg and missing 66kg. She went for it again in the clean & jerk, hitting 80kg, 83kg and getting 86kg over her head but getting a no rep for a press out. She finished in first place with a 146kg total which is a competition PB. This was her 7th Senior National title 
Nadine Hayes competed on Sunday in the 76kg category. This category is very closely contested with many athletes capable of the win. But Nads was focused! She hit a 60kg snatch, 63kg, and just like Ets she missed the 66kg. She was 5kg behind at that point but fiercely attacked the clean and jerk, hitting 80kg, 84kg and 88kg to take the title by 1kg! This was a 5kg clean and jerk PB and 8kg PB in the total and her first of many National Senior Titles.
